Mr. Estra joined Boustead Securities as Managing Director in 2019.  Previously Mr. Estra served in various research capacities for a number of investment banks, including SG Warburg (now UBS), Merrill Lynch, BT Alex Brown (now Deutsche Bank) and Oppenheimer.  He also covered companies in the Industrial Technology and Medical Technology industries. 

 

He began his career in the mining industry, at AMAX Inc., a global natural resources leader with interests in precious metals, copper, lead, zinc, coal, oil & gas, molybdenum, tungsten and iron ore.  At AMAX he held a number of positions in Finance, Marketing and Strategic Business Development, leaving Amax as Vice President Corporate Development.

 

Mr. Estra was previously President and Chief Executive Officer as well as a Director of Ensurge, Inc., a gold mining company developing mines in Brazil, Guyana and Suriname.  He is a Director of Searchlight Minerals Corp., Non-Executive Chairman of the Board and Director of Starcore International Mines, Ltd., and a Director of Meadow Bay Gold Corporation.

 

Mr. Estra graduated from Babson College (International Economics) and from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business (Finance).  He served in the United States Army (Medical Corps) and has been a member of the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers, the Foreign Policy Association, the New York Society of Security Analysts and the Stock & Bond Club of South Florida.
